About The Event
Outdoor standup comedy is the hardest version of this job — no walls, no controlled lighting, no guarantee the crowd is even facing you when you start. I love it anyway.
On May 30th I'll be performing at Newaygo Pride, and from what I understand, this is the first time standup comedy has ever been on their stage. That's either an honor or a warning. Probably both.
Newaygo is a small river town about 45 minutes north of Grand Rapids, and Pride events in places like this carry real weight. The community shows up for each other, the energy is genuine, and the laughs hit differently when the room is actually outside and the stakes feel real.
I'll be bringing original material — the Bavarian-American take on gay married life, middle age, and everything in between. Free festival. Open air. Come find the stage.
